Do you have an event to plan this year? A new product or service to launch and don’t know where to start? Whether it’s a small dinner or a performance in the back of a truck, it can become overwhelming. Here are some tips and tricks to remember.

Set a budget and stick to it. Speaking from experience, it’s very easy to chase the next shiny object.

Choose a concept or theme. Think about how you want your brand to be seen and how you want your delegates to feel. What will make them want to attend and tell others how good it was.

Talk about what you want to achieve. Is it to promote a new product or service, a branding exercise, or simply to thank your customers, and build loyal relationships?

An easy one to miss is make sure the date does not clash with any other major events happening or during holiday periods. Make sure the time you start your events suits the theme. For example, if you decide to serve alcohol, an afternoon or evening event would be a better option. Make sure your team is professional, courteous, and well educated on why you’re doing the event. Enthusiasm and knowledge go a long way to building credibility.

Lastly, have some fun. Work is not suppose to be painful so take time to enjoy it as well. People will feel the energy in the room and a positive, fun energy always goes a long way to ensuring a successful event.
