TRANSPORT FOR NSW AT ROYAL EASTER SHOW 2021

The Brief

 
Transport for NSW, in partnership with creative agency Geometry, enlisted Grand Stand Events to bring to life an engaging and educational activation at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. The objective was to create a large-scale, interactive space that would inform and captivate the public across a wide demographic—from families to daily commuters.

 

The Collaboration

 
This build was a true collaborative effort. Grand Stand Events worked closely with Geometry and Transport for NSW across every stage of the project—planning, design, and execution. The result was a cohesive and impactful display that highlighted multiple divisions within the department, all while maintaining a unified and immersive experience.

 

The Build

 
Spanning a massive 150m² footprint, the stand was carefully divided into zones using custom wall and floor graphics. Each section represented a different department within Transport for NSW, including Sydney Metro, Centres for Road Safety and Maritime Safety, and Public Transport. The design allowed for seamless flow between areas while giving each section a clear identity and focus.

 

The Experience

 
To ensure maximum public engagement, the space featured a variety of interactive elements:

1. • Virtual mirrors that provided educational prompts and transport safety information
2. • Photo booths for light-hearted, memorable takeaways
3. • Games and interactive displays tailored for all age groups

These elements worked together to both educate and entertain, helping visitors connect with Transport for NSW in a meaningful and memorable way.
 

The Result

 
The activation was a standout success at the show, drawing in high volumes of foot traffic and positive feedback from both the public and our collaborators. The combination of vibrant visuals, well-defined zones, and engaging interactivity made it one of the most talked-about government stands at the event.
