Expanding government impact with a unified, multi-division exhibition space.
Client: Transport for NSW
Event: Sydney Royal Easter Show 2025
Stand Size: 171sqm
Location: Hall 2, Sydney Showground
Scope: Design, Build, Project Management, On-Site Delivery
Introduction
After an award-winning activation in 2024, Transport for NSW returned to the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2025 with an expanded brief and greater expectations. Grand Stand Events was re-engaged to deliver a larger, more integrated stand solution that would accommodate four internal divisions while maintaining clear navigation, interactivity, and a unified visitor experience.
Objectives
-
● Increase footprint to accommodate growing public-facing programs
● Introduce new digital and product activations
● Preserve visual continuity with 2024 while updating brand presence
● Reuse selected assets to minimise environmental impact
● Deliver within a strict timeframe across staged installation
Key Stand Features

Sustainable Design Execution
A major project consideration was sustainability. Key components from the 2024 exhibit were identified, restored, and reintegrated into the 2025 build:
-
● Reused custom tablet counters and touchscreens
● Existing plinths, Metro signage, and brochure holders
● Updated photo activation reused with new branding
● Reused framing systems with refreshed panels
This approach minimised production waste, transport costs, and environmental impact without compromising quality.

Installation and Logistics
The scale and complexity of this exhibit required coordinated delivery across four consecutive days. Grand Stand Events deployed multiple teams to install:
-
● Structural framing and raised flooring
● Rigging and overhead banner (5m x 28.5m)
● AV systems, iPads, and power distribution
● Joinery and custom fabricated units
● Brand-specific signage and campaign graphics
The entire stand was delivered on schedule and in alignment with TfNSW’s visual and compliance requirements.
Outcome
The 2025 stand successfully scaled TfNSW’s public engagement strategy. The multi-agency layout was clear, accessible, and responsive to visitor needs. The integration of new activation areas, alongside strategic reuse of existing materials, reflected a mature approach to sustainability without sacrificing design quality.
“From the outset, this project was about balancing scale, complexity, and expectations. With multiple departments in one exhibit, clear communication and phased coordination were critical. Our focus was on making the process seamless for the client—managing moving parts behind the scenes so Transport for NSW could focus on public engagement and messaging.” – Sebastien Thuet, Account Manager, Grand Stand Events
