The Brief

For Appian APJ 2026, CAPITAL-e engaged Grand Stand Events to deliver a cohesive branded environment across multiple areas of ICC Sydney’s Level 3 Convention space.

The project required a series of connected environments to support registration, sponsor engagement, product demonstrations, customer conversations, education, networking and social interaction throughout the event.

The event extended across the Level 3 foyer and adjoining Cockle Bay spaces, alongside conference seating, catering and breakout areas. The challenge was to give each activation a clear purpose while ensuring the entire environment still felt unmistakably Appian.

Creating One Consistent Event Environment

Rather than treating each activation as an isolated build, the project was approached as one connected event environment.

A repeatable modular design was developed around Appian’s brand identity, using Aluvision framing, illuminated edge detailing, large-format fabric graphics, integrated digital displays and clean white furniture.

This allowed the same visual language to carry across multiple footprints and functions while giving each zone its own purpose.

The result was a consistent experience without unnecessary repetition. Attendees could move from registration through sponsor booths, product areas and customer engagement spaces while remaining within one clearly defined brand environment.

Sponsor & Product Engagement

Six dedicated sponsor booths were positioned throughout the event environment.

Each combined branded digital fabric graphics with Aluvision framing, LED edge illumination, an integrated 43-inch display, counter and informal meeting furniture.

The compact format gave each sponsor a defined presence while maintaining visual consistency across the broader event.

Five dedicated product booths followed the same design language, combining branded graphics, integrated displays and counters to create practical spaces for demonstrations and one-to-one conversations.

Raised Eco Floor and marble-look finishes were also incorporated into key product areas, helping visually define each activation from the surrounding venue space.

A Dedicated Custom Stand

A larger 6m × 3m custom stand provided a stronger destination within the wider event footprint.

The stand incorporated a substantial 5.95m-wide branded graphic treatment, illuminated detailing, counters, informal meeting furniture and integrated digital displays.

Its increased scale created a clear focal point while maintaining the same material and graphic language used throughout the surrounding activations.

Designing the Full Attendee Journey

The scope extended well beyond the individual booth environments.

Grand Stand Events delivered branded elements across multiple stages of the attendee experience, including registration, customer engagement zones, the Ask the CS area, Appian Academic, breakout spaces, lounge and social zones, an AI photo booth, coffee and media walls, environmental graphics and pillar wraps.

The registration environment established the brand from the point of arrival, incorporating four branded counters alongside a nearly four-metre-wide printed fabric backdrop with illuminated edge detailing.

From there, this transitioned into a series of increasingly interactive spaces designed around different attendee needs — whether that was learning about a product, speaking with the Appian team, meeting a sponsor or moving into a more informal networking setting.

Branding Beyond the Floor

Maintaining visibility across such a broad footprint meant looking beyond the individual structures.

Five suspended branded banners were distributed across the sponsor, product and lounge areas, creating visibility above the event floor and helping connect physically separated activation zones.

Across the wider build, more than 100 linear metres of LED edge strips were used, reinforcing the brand across sponsor booths, product zones, registration, the custom stand and social spaces.

More than 100 sqm of raised Eco Flooring was also used across key areas of the event, including product, customer and social zones.

The Result

The space provided Appian with a strong and consistent physical presence throughout the event.

Rather than relying on one central branded space, this was embedded across the full attendee journey.

For CAPITAL-e, the project demonstrated how a modular exhibition system can extend well beyond the boundaries of a traditional stand.

For Grand Stand Events, it was an opportunity to deliver a multi-zone branded event environment where architecture, graphics, digital content and spatial planning worked together as one cohesive experience.
