Event Summary – IAC Sydney 2025
2025 marks the 76th year of the International Astronautical Congress (IAC). The global space community gathers at this prestigious event to explore academic research, the latest advancements and trends, partnership opportunities, and industry connections. IAC 2025 will take place in Sydney, Australia, and will be hosted by the Space Industry Association of Australia (SIAA) and co-hosted by the Australian Space Agency and the NSW Government. The 75th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Milan in 2024 set a new record with over 11,000 registrations.
This will be Australia’s third time hosting IAC, with previous events in Melbourne in 1998 and Adelaide in 2017. The upcoming IAC in Sydney offers a generational opportunity to highlight the rapid advancements of Australia’s space industry and the significance of space-enabled services for the Australian way of life.
The event will explore space’s critical role in businesses and our daily lives and its influence and relevance across various sectors, including emergency services, health, utilities, telecommunications, resources, manufacturing, finance, construction, agriculture, and smart cities. IAC 2025 also aims to promote space initiatives in the Indo-Pacific region by showcasing its diverse opportunities in space.
